Update on SASMC Remodel

All-good Shambhalians,
So far the progress has been amazing. We’ve completed most of the tear-out and we’re getting close to having the new walls ready for texture, priming and painting.

Many of the big challenges have been addressed and handily dispatched, thanks to the hard work of Amber Llhamo and Dean Ozimkowski with their carpentry expertise and with the equally hardcore efforts of Geoff Walter and Rebecca Black.

The priorities of work are set to get the building ready for APPRAISAL, the pivotal point as we go into underwriting on the mortgage. We are heading into day 15 of the 30 – day period to get the property safe and functional before appraisal.

We need to pull on all of our community for any volunteer time starting tomorrow through the weekend. Any level of skill is needed. There is plenty of work to do supporting the carpentry team, landscaping, and cleanup. Particularly we need people with trucks to haul of debris. We have accumulated at least a couple of dump runs worth of scrap.

Anytime you can volunteer is needed. We will be staying late this week to get ready for the weekend.

This Saturday we will be prepping the walls for paint, and there is extra help coming down from Austin for the day. Let’s rally as many people as we can to get through Phase 1 and make this property the home SASMC is looking for.

Looking forward to working and practicing with you all.
