Kyudo- Japanese Archery as Meditative Practice  7-8 pm

November 4. Introduction to Kyudo,  9am -3 pm

Kyudo, the Way of the Bow, has over time become a contemplative practice. Our program begins with the student learning the basic form for using a Japanese bow to release an arrow. As the program concludes, students have the opportunity to take their "first shot". With each subsequent shot, the Way of the Bow unfolds, allowing one's natural dignity to shine through. "In kyudo, one is not polishing one's shooting style or technique, but the mind." Kanjuro Shibata XX

All new & old  students are welcome to join the program. We are fortunate to host Toby Bernal from the Austin Shambhala Center to lead our program. All equipment will be provided. For lunch: bring lunch money if you wish to eat out with a group or bring your lunch to eat at the center.
